Whether you’re announcing a release, embarking on a speaking tour, or looking to create eye-catching, on-brand social media content, I offer tailored design solutions.

PROMOTIONAL COLLATERAL

An eBook companion can be an invaluable asset for authors. I can convert your print book to an eBook while maintaining the cohesive design package I’ve built, preserving its visual integrity across formats.

WHAT ABOUT AN eBOOK?

Exceptional book design goes beyond aesthetics—it creates a cohesive experience. A well-crafted book cover, a thoughtfully styled interior, and sophisticated promotional collateral all work together to captivate and engage your readers. Let me design a stunning, custom book package that sets your book apart.

The bespoke nature of my approach ensures that your book stands alone. I meticulously research book cover trends and style the interior to complement the cover, ensuring a seamless, beautifully designed piece. This isn’t a cookie-cutter template—each book is crafted to reflect its unique message and tone.

the publishing process—from manuscript to launch—ensuring a beautifully cohesive look across all aspects  of an author’s message. Unlike a piecemeal approach where different designers handle separate elements, I create a unified, high-quality book package. From cover design and interior styling to eBook conversion and social media collateral, I craft a seamless, professional presence that enhances both the book and the author's brand.

I bring 18 years of expertise in book design and consulting, print design, identity branding, and custom home pieces. For the past 14 years, I’ve primarily worked in the publishing industry, collaborating with seasoned authors, first-time writers, smaller publishing houses, and book brokers.

What sets me apart is my comprehensive, start-to-finish approach. I’m deeply involved in every stage of

LET'S GET STARTED

your book project

FAQS

Step one

First up: Send in your Project Inquiry and filling out the Project Spec Sheet will help me to evaluate the project scope. I'll look at the word count and the list of ideal items you wish to include in the book: ie illustrations, jpgs, maps, tables, charts and the level of complexity to create or edit those items. All included items must be high resolution 300 dpi images/exports.

step two

Next - Evaluation + Estimate = Sign Agreement. I'll send you a link to submit your manuscript as Word Doc, and if possible a pdf. You'll include any images you have as well. For the cover, you will have an opportunity include a link to a Pinterest board if you already have an inspo board set up. (If you don't, we will work together during the R+D stage to create a visual inspo board.) After I evaluate everything together, I'll send you a quote for the project with an Agreement to sign. The entire project is managed online through Milanote, you'll be invited to set up your account and complete the first few new client tasks. Don't worry - clients love it just as much as I do.

step three

Payment. A deposit, usually 50% of the project is due up front before any work will begin. Final payment will be due before any deliverables are released to the client or uploaded to the intended book printer/distributer. Delays in the payment schedule will affect a project start and/or completion date. The client is responsible to maintain the payment schedule terms as outlined in the Agreement. Details regarding what sort of expenses or licenses for a project are outlined in the Book Project Agreement. Payments are made through the Quickbooks invoice with a credit card. I also accept Zelle and for my International clients, payments through Wise are accepted.

deliverables

The author will receive print-ready pdf files of all final designed products and final image exports of any created items. Authors will also receive their packaged InDesign file, however, this file is not editable outside of the professional Adobe InDesign software, but in the case of something happening to my archives or to me, the client will be able to take the file to another designer for future revisions or editions of their book.

Font licensing

Font licenses are non-transferable, and I will not provide or share .TTF or .OTF files. Doing so would be illegal and violate most End User License Agreements (EULAs).

Instead, I will supply clients with a document containing links to the fonts used in their project. These may include free Google Fonts or fonts that require a separate purchase. If a client intends to upload fonts to Canva’s Brand Kit or use them for marketing and social media, they are responsible for obtaining the appropriate licenses.

This policy is non-negotiable, and it not only my responsibility but it is also the client’s responsibility to comply with all font licensing requirements.

stock image licensing

Depending on where the image/footage is purchased, the Designer will notify the client of the appropriate usage and licensing options available.

self-publishing?

Amazon's KDP or IngramSpark are great options. Snowfall Press is a wonderful Print-on-Demand (POD) solution. I have watched the self-publishing industry grow since the beginning. You're in great hands with me. I'll set up your book on either of these platforms. I prefer to do the uploads myself so that I can check the immediate technical review process and ensure your files are set properly. This incurs a fee of $85/title. Many are confused about their genre and keywords. I do offer a comprehensive set up taking all the guess work out of it for you by doing the research and setting up your Author Central Dashboard utilizing the A+ Content feature. This service is $285.

isbn + barcodes

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is the most important identifier your book can have. As the official ISBN Agency for the United States and its territories, Bowker provides identifiers that help authors get their books discovered. You can opt for one ISBN identifier for $125 or you can get 10 for $250. Setting up your book on your account is included in the Set Up charges of $85 or the $285 above. You do not need to purchase your own an ISBN and barcode for Amazon, it is recommended but they do provide a free ISBN+barcode. *Low content books, meaning those with few words like a journal, are not offered an ISBN through KDP, therefore it will have to be purchased through Bowker if you choose to have one.

Editing

One Word Editing is my go-to agency. Stacey is thorough and specializes in imitating the author's voice, coaching, and all the APA and MLA details we never thought we'd mess with after college! With the exception of minor revisions after a final proof/print proof, manuscripts should be submitted in full, edited, near-perfect state when I go to import them for layout design. With the exception of some front matter items like a foreword or endorsement or your back matter epilogue or references, the main content of the book needs to be complete.

costs

Cover design begins at $850. Complex design incorporating illustrated elements, photoshop editing will begin at $1250. Interior layout design really depends on the scope. Straight novel formatting begins at $650 no matter the word count and can include up to 10 images with minimal clean up/conversion to CMYK or grayscale. Complex layouts with pull quotes, offset items, artfully designed pages, notes (footnote/endnotes), hyperlinks, charts/tables, illustrated maps etc begin at $1250 and an Academic handbook, guide book, cook book, devotional, plan to budget at least $1850. All projects will go through a detailed evaluation process resulting in an individual comprehensive quote. Along the way new additional content may be added or there may be additional change requests which will broaden the scope of the project. In such a case, the additional costs are discussed, agreed upon and added to the payment schedule.

eBooks

An ebook is created in part directly from my interior print file, but it is not simply a different type of export. There are additional items that need to be created, coded and even swapped out for a digital eReader device. An eBook is also not just a pdf. I am happy to design an eBook without a print book companion, however, the baseline costs are the same as a print book.

If I have designed your print book, an additional eBook companion is a fraction of the cost since much of the layout legwork has been completed in the print book creation stage. Therefore an eBook version of your existing print book, formatted by me, begins at $350.
